Welcome to the NEW A Polished Plan website!

What an exciting and highly anticipated day for A Polished Plan as we launch our redesigned brand and website for the world to see! This project has been a labor of love since this past July when we decided that our hardworking little logo could use a make-over. And of course, like any sensible OCD, Type A, over-planner, we couldn’t just stop with a new logo since obviously everything needs to match! Soooo….6 months later and partnerships with some seriously creative people, we are incredibly excited to unveil the finished product!

The biggest transformation was our little logo, formerly known as “aPp”. It has served us well over the past 4 years and this break-up did not come easily! But once we discovered the incredibly talented artist in Abany Bauer of Brown Linen Design we knew that she could create something that more accurately reflected the style and scope of A Polished Plan. And we are absolutely delighted with our new logo, her grown-up big sister, simply known as Polished.

And then came the huge, monster sized, all-consuming task of tackling the website. We wanted to update the overall appearance and offer our users new and fresh content and imagery with a sleek and streamlined user experience. BUT, and this was a big BUT, we wanted to stay true to our original brand that was set in motion back in 2010. This meant that our friendly little Polished tree, our color story, and the overall mood and ambiance of the Polished story had to stay in tact. Sounds easy, right?! Wrong! The only woman crazy enough, errr incredible enough, to take on the task was the lady who made it all happen back in 2010. The magnificant Deb Wagner of dstripe.

And well….the rest is history! 6 months, hundred of photos, pages and pages of copy, one thousand emails and phone calls, and countless “what do you think about this?”, or “how about we try this?”, and more patience and technical talent than one single person should probably ever have….and we’ve got ourselves the new Polished website! Deb, thank you for making the process for the second version of the Polished website just as wonderful as the first time around. See you in another 4 years?!?!?

We hope you enjoy it and can’t wait to hear what you all think!

The Connecticut Bride
DIY Glitter & Gold Lace Factory Wedding

A beautiful wedding is beautiful no matter how you shake it. But when you see it in PRINT, beautiful takes on a whole new meaning!

That is exactly the case for aPp’s stunner of a wedding this past October at The Lace Factory (one of our favorite venues ever). It is currently featured in the Fall/Winter issue of The Connecticut Bride and we are so excited to see this wedding get the press it deserves. Rachel & Ben’s wedding exudes all of the qualities that aPp is so proud of when it comes to producing and executing events. Thoughtfully designed (seriously….this bride thought about everything- every.little.thing….and we loved it), personalized (guests kept saying that it just “felt” like Rachel and Ben…music to our ears), creative and budget friendly (DIY was the name of the game here), and organized (it went off without a hitch…seriously….even Mother Nature followed the plan).

In two words: perfectly Polished.

Entertaining Essentials: Lawn Games

We all know that a classic photo booth is a great way to entertain guests at an event and produce a film strip of memories that can last a lifetime. But if you’re really looking for a way to get guests mingling and families laughing together, a great way to do so is to incorporate a few lawn games into any outdoor celebration!

We’ve recently been researching vendors that carry the classics as well as exploring some new game options that have been becoming wildly popular. From corn hole, croquet and horse shoes to hoola hooping, ring toss and giant Jenga, below is a collection of some of our favorite options for you to explore.

Be sure to check out vendors on Etsy as they are really leading the way in both antique and custom lawn games. Many of the games suggested are also perfect DIY projects. Regardless of age, guests are sure to be entertained!

Polished Highlights: Pretty Pink & Gold Fall wedding in Greenwich

We are so excited to share with you the wedding of Sarah & Alex from this past October at The Stanwich Club. Sarah was one of the most organized brides I have ever encountered. When we started working together, and she handed me a stack of excel worksheets to rival my own, I knew I had met my match! Sarah’s vision for the wedding day was very clear. While they were getting married in mid October, the peak of the amazing Fall foliage, she did not want a color scheme of oranges and browns (I mean really…does any bride want that as her color story?!?!) Instead she chose soft shades of pinks and golds and we anchored it all with neutral linens and pops of elegant black. The colors fit in perfectly with the design of the gorgeous Stanwich Club in Greenwich, where both the ceremony and reception were held. The images were all captured picture perfectly by the lovely Anna Sawin who took every advantage of this adorable couple and amazing Fall day!

And how about that bouquet?!?! WOW! That gem was created by the super talented Ann from Dirt in Greenwich. Stunning!

Sarah and Alex, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day! xo

Carats & Cake
Nautical Prep Beach Club Wedding

The wedding of Chandler & Ryan was such a gorgeous represenation of Nautical preppiness and sophistication at its finest. We played with the classic shades of navy blue and white and the every-popular blue Hydrangea but incorporated some really interesting patterns and accent florals to really make this wedding stand out. And it all took place at one of our favorite seaside locations, The Wee Burn Beach Club, with incredible photos by our good friend Amanda from Orchard Cove Photography.

We are so delighted to see this fabulous wedding featured on Carats & Cake today!
