The wedding of Jamie & Juan this past July at Juan’s family home in Manchester, CT was like none other that we have ever worked on before! This event had fireworks, ferris wheels, and fun by the boatload! And we were so delighted to have it featured in the lastest print issue of Field Guide to Weddings, a new(er) publication dedicated to highlighting fresh, innovative, and unique wedding celebrations for the stylish bride and groom. We certainly think this gorgeous wedding fits the bill! Enjoy the tear pages below!
The wedding of Ellen & Matt, this past September at Lighthouse Point Park, was a bit of a dream come true for this lover of all things whimsical, shabby chic, and brightly hued. When I first met Ellen & Matt at a little coffee shop on the Yale Campus, and they told me of their mutual love of music (they are both accomplished musicians and scholars), appreciation of Matt’s Scottish roots (kilts and bagpipes were a must as the proposal took place at a castle in Scotland!), and genuine desire to have a non-wedding wedding (they wanted an awesome party, with a marriage ceremony thrown in between), I knew Polished was the perfect planner for them! They had some very specific elements and concepts in mind for their big day and I was 100% prepared to deliver on every single one. Including…wait for it…a casual pot luck dinner for their 130 guests! True, some wedding planners would run kicking and screaming into the woods at that request but I thought- Hey, why not?!? And when I came to Ellen with the crazy idea of using bright yellow dinner chairs as a substantial pop of color in the design and she said- Hey, why not?!? See what I mean? Kindred Spirits! What fun we had and what an absolutely beautiful celebration it was!
Thank you to our beautiful and adventurous couple for letting us plan a truly memorable celebration! And thank you to the amazingly talented Sidney Morgan Photography for such stunning photographs, perfectly capturing the spirit of the day!

Kate and Charlie were married last August before an intimate group of their closest family and friends, many of whom flew over to the U.S. from the groom’s native U.K. Throughout the course of planning, this detail would serve as an overarching “theme” of the celebration. A blue and white color story would also serve as a starting off point for creativity to ensue.
Save the Dates featured artwork of the two continents with a dotted trail connecting the landmasses. The artwork would later serve as a guest book that was framed to hang on the wall of Kate and Charlie’s new home together. Compasses with calligraphy from Laura Hooper sat atop and inside vintage wooden crates and provided guests with their seating assignments. Loved ones were greeted by a bagpiper who led the newlyweds through our bride’s families’ country club and onto the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.
Thank you Kate and Charlie for being such incredibly sweet human beings and many thanks to the amazing team who helped create such a wonderful wedding for our couple. The warmth, love and energy felt from all who attended was undeniable!

When we first set to work with Liz and Ryan it was clear that the vision they had for their wedding day was timeless elegance. Our bride designed a wedding dress with a similar aesthetic to Kate Middleton’s and her groom opted for a classic black tuxedo complete with suspenders and bowtie. We were thrilled to learn that the couple would exchange vows at Christ Church, possibly the most stunning places of worship in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Inspired by the reception venue’s stone walls and water views, a beautiful palette of gray and blush set the tone for this welcoming summer soiree. A Fabulous Fete produced escort and table name cards, with watercolor brushstrokes that mimicked the scenery. Silver mercury glass votives and starfish paperweights gave the tablescape a pop while neutral linens and gorgeous blush and ivory centerpieces softened the look.
The entire evening was picture perfect and we could not be happier for our gorgeous couple. Thank you to all of the amazing vendors who helped to bring our couples vision to life! Shoutout to Kvibe Productions for capturing all of the beauty on film!
